Raven to Heaven

Disturbing
Seeing the black feathers
Scattered on the lawn
Beside the bus stop.

Unpleasant
As the warmth of sunshine
Being distributed
Among the world.

Nobody knows
How you ended up here,
And perhaps
No one wants to know.

For
You have been referred to
As the evil in disguise

But today
You are the angel.
Spreading your wings
On the path to heaven.

Leaving the dark feathers behind.

I wrote this poem simply because I saw a dead raven (or crow, I don't really know how to tell them apart) beside the bus stop outside my school, and I felt kind of disturbing and uncomfortable. I also posted this on Allpoetry while I was doing the self-publishing project, and got several comments.

Angel of the Pacific

 Angel of the Pacific

 By: Helen Yin

Gone
As the silver moon shone upon you.
Quietly,
Peacefully,
Without a single word.

Still remembering the day we met.
You were there
Splashing with joy,
Along with your friend
Who was just like you.

Still remembering the days we had.
I was there
Watching with appreciation,
In front of the glass
That stands between us.

I thought
This amazing moment would continue,
As a fairytale.

I thought
Even if we said goodbye,
You would stay.

But I guess
You failed to hear my thoughts,
And decided to leave.

Sometimes,
Farewell
Is only one second away.

Lord of the Flies Found Poem

Beyond the Sea

(Found poem from William Golding's Lord of the Flies, Page 1- 225)

Pink rock,
Multitude of raindrops splattering.
Ears cocked,
Acrid scent of salt, the waves were breathing.

Harsh note of the conch,
Sudden breeze scattered light.
Red in face, chin sunk.
Will it come back tonight?

A dark thing, a beast
Invite them to the feast.

End of innocence
Magicked out of sense.

Tears began to flow
A child’s shadow
Just a stone’s throw.

Do Seek Their Meat From God (Title Analysis)

There is no right or wrong,
In terms of predators and preys.
Man and beast,
Both can be survivors and victims.
One lives,
The other one dies.

There should be no judgments,
When the panthers seek for meat.
There should be no questions,
When the settler kills the animals.
This is just the way,
That God made the world.

Everything is arranged before hand,
And it shall not be altered.
God guides the panthers to their prey,
But brings the settler along at the same time.
There is no other choices but fighting for their lives,
For they do seek their meat from God.

Zodiac Poems~Pisces---Shattered Glass

Pisces---Shattered Glass

Fragile,
Best word to describe emotion.
No matter how strong a person is,
Emotion is the weakness.
So soft,
That can be pressed down.
So hard,
That can be hammed into pieces.

Glass,
Best thing to represent emotion.
No matter how huge a piece of glass is,
A stone can easily break it.
So clear,
We can see through it.
So pure,
We can dye it with one drop of paint.

Tears, anger, and loneliness,
These are the things,
That leave cracks on the glass.
These cracks,
Can be sealed
As time passes by.
Fights, betrayals, divorce,
These will also leave cracks.
But cracks,
That will last for a longer time,
Or even
For the rest of your lifetime.

Sometimes
People think their piece of glass is perfect.
Trust me,
There will not be a piece of perfect glass.
They either sealed the cracks,
Or just cut off the broken piece.

More cracks,
Means more sealing,
And the glass will become blurred.
Eventually,
People will fail to see,
What have happened to them.

One day,
The piece of glass
Will be shattered.
Just like,
People’s emotion

Is gone with the wind.
